According to a report from Bild, Paris Saint-Germain have been struck with a large fine after dozens of Parisian supporters stormed the pitch to celebrate. Supporters were seen ripping up chunks of turf and even cutting the goal nets in the area where the first three goals of Luis Enrique’s side were scored.Bild report that the damage has prompted UEFA to consider heavy sanctions against the Champions of Europe, who now risk fines for the use of pyrotechnics and for the pitch invasion following the final. While Allianz Arena grounds staff have since managed to restore the pitch ahead of Wednesday’s Nations League semi-final between Germany and Portugal, the repair bill is expected to be passed on to PSG. On the night, police attempted to contain the invasion but were unable to remove all fans from the pitch before the damage was done. The capital club’s first Champions League title was celebrated wildly both in Munich and back at home. Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez has revealed the extent of incidents after 100,000 supporters gathered in central Paris to celebrate Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League triumph. Speaking to RTL, the Paris police prefect confirmed that a total of 563 arrests were made over the weekend, including 491 in the capital, as law enforcement say they had to respond to ‘violent disturbances’ during and after PSG’s title celebrations.GFFN | George Boxall
