Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has provided some positive injury updates on three Chelsea players who have been missing in recent games.

Maresca saw his side beat Brentford 2-1 at Stamford Bridge last night after goals came from the unlikely source of Marc Cucurella’s head, and then a convincing Nicolas Jackson finish that eventually turned out to be the winning goal of the game.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make club-to-club contact to sign new Premier League striker!!

Chelsea are now just two points behind league leaders Liverpool, although the latter do still have a game in hand after having a recent game against Everton called off due to the storms in the UK last weekend.

The Blues are also now pulling away from Arsenal, who could only draw at the weekend. There is now four points between those two sides.

Things are going very well for Maresca and Chelsea, and also, they have seemingly gotten on top of injuries this season too. Although, we are starting to see a few more creep in as the season goes on, but that is only natural I guess.

Felix has been absent

Joao Felix missed the trip to face Astana midweek and was also forced to sit out of the Brentford win.

However, Maresca confirmed after victory over the Bees that he is expecting the Portugal international to be available for Thursday’s Conference League game with Shamrock Rovers.

Romeo Lavia, another who has been absent, should also be back for the next game too, although he’s not in the Conference League squad so won’t play Thursday.

‘We had Joao [Felix] and Romeo [Lavia] that probably can be available for the next one,’ Maresca confirmed on the Chelsea website.

‘Carney [Chukwuemeka] after Astana was ill, Chilly (Ben Chilwell) was ill. Pedro [Neto] was suspended and then we had Reece [James] and Wes [Fofana] injured, and unfortunately during the session yesterday, Benoit [Badiashile] felt something, and Misha [Mudryk] is out too.

‘Benoit had a problem yesterday during the session. For now, we do not know how long he will be out for. As for Romeo, he can be available for the next game.’
