Blackburn Rovers and Millwall go head-to-head at Ewood Park this Friday in the EFL Championship.
Rovers appeared in the hunt for a play-off spot for much of the campaign, but currently lie in 10th with 56 points - although Valérien Ismaël's team dented Luton Town's survival hopes with a 0-1 win over the Hatters last time out.
Millwall, however, have put together an unlikely late promotion push and still harbour hopes of a top six finish. Currently ninth in the table, Alex Neil's team won 1-0 against Middlesbrough in their last fixture.
The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 1-0 win for Millwall.
Daniel Oliveira (Playmaker Stats editor): Since John Eustace left for Derby County, Blackburn Rovers have fallen away from the play-off race, and fans are growing more and more frustrated with how the club's being run.
Valérien Ismaël did manage to grab a much-needed win last weekend, with Yuki Ohashi netting the only goal in a 1-0 victory away at Luton Town.
That said, Rovers are now at a point in the season where, technically, the play-offs are still possible — but realistically, it's a massive long shot. Their focus for the final four games is more about putting in solid performances and giving the fans something to believe in for next season.
They’ll be up against a Millwall side who are on a roll, having won three on the bounce and still chasing a play-off spot themselves. I reckon the Lions might just edge this one, likely in a tight, low-scoring affair.
Omer Ronayne (That Millwall Podcast): Three wins on the bounce, and somehow we're now just three points off the play-offs heading into Good Friday. Who saw this coming just a month ago? The team have picked the perfect time to hit form, and with results falling our way, the Easter double-header could make or break the late charge.
Next up is Blackburn away, a place that’s given us mixed fortunes over the years. The home side seem out of sorts and will be desperate to change their fortunes however that said, this Lions team has rediscovered its bite. The defensive solidity, the energy in midfield, and the belief up top - it's all starting to click. I'm going to believe here and run with it because why not?
Tanganga is back - playing through the pain with a fractured wrist, no doubt still my pick for Player of the Season. Azeez is also back involved, adding that injection of pace out wide we’ve missed, and Coburn returns after missing last weekend due to loan rules. All key boosts at just the right time.
I’m backing us to keep this run going. With Norwich to come at The Den on Monday, this could be one of those special weekends we look back on come May. Let’s go for a narrow but gritty away win 0-1 Millwall.
