The Los Angeles Galaxy have played three of their four games at the Coachella Valley Invitational already. Their fourth and final contest takes place on Saturday this weekend against the Chicago Fire.

This is a rematch of last year's shocking 2-1 loss on the road for the LA Galaxy. Chicago stunned the eventual champs.

The Galaxy lost just eight times in 34 games. In 2023, the team won that many times.

Saturday's game between the Galaxy and Fire takes place at noon on the Pacific Coast and 3:00 p.m. on the East Coast.

In 26 games between the two teams, the LA Galaxy have won 11 times and lost eight times. There have been seven draws all-time in the series.

Prior to last season, the Los Angeles Galaxy have gone unbeaten against the Fire since 2010. That's 15 straight matches with a win or draw for the six-time MLS Cup champs against Chicago since their defeat in January 2010.

Who should the LA Galaxy be one the lookout for on Chicago to avoid getting burned?

Just like the LA Galaxy, the Fire also won on Wednesday. Chicago won 5-1 against another California team, the San Jose Earthquakes.

Jonathan Bamba and Brian Gutierrez each scored a pair of goals. Philip Zinckernagel recorded the other goal along with two assists.

Those are three players the Los Angeles Galaxy will have to focus their efforts on defense with. During the winter, the team has re-signed both Maya Yoshida and Eriq Zavaleta. The team lost

The Galaxy also added Mathias Jorgensen (aka Zanka) and Ascel Essengue to the defense. Both players joined the team similar to how forwards Gabriel Pec and Joseph Paintsil did last winter.

After two draws in the Invitational, the LA Galaxy won their first game in 2025 by defeating Minnesota United FC, 2-1. Saturday will mark the second time in a row they are playing a team coming off a 5 goal or more performance.

Tucker Lampley scored the Galaxy's two goals last time out. Yoshida and forward Miguel Berry produced scores in the 2-2 draw vs. Charlotte FC. Gabriel Pec provided the goal to give the Galaxy their other tie, 1-1, against Austin FC.

The 30th MLS regular season opens up next weekend. The Los Angeles Galaxy begin their title defense when they host newcomers to the league, San Diego FC.
