Arsenal drop more points as Liverpool close in
The Premier League season is approaching its end
ES Composite
Liverpool are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table ahead of what looks like a saunter to another title.
Arsenal still had dreams of winning the Premier League but they look all but over now.
Indeed, Arsenal drew 1-1 with Everton on Saturday lunchtime, with Leandro Trossard’s opener cancelled out by Iliman Ndiaye’s penalty to leave the Gunners 11 points behind the Reds.
Later that day, Crystal Palace beat rivals Brighton 2-1 but that does not tell the whole story. The Eagles were reduced to nine men following red cards shown to both Eddie Nketiah and Marc Guehi, while the Seagulls had Jan Paul van Hecke dismissed too. Meanwhile, West Ham drew 2-2 with Bournemouth.
Most of the action then comes on Sunday. Manchester City travel to Manchester United for another derby as the headline fixture, though that comes after Chelsea travel to west London rivals Brentford and under-pressure Tottenham welcome Southampton. Liverpool travel to Fulham.
