Premier League Matchday 7 Predictions & Preview

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

Crystal Palace: Palace lost embarrassingly to Everton last weekend (the embarrassing part is losing to Everton). They will now have the challenging task of bouncing back when the other half of Merseyside comes to South London, and a bounce back for the Eagles looks very unlikely.

Liverpool: The Reds were not at their best against Wolves, but they still managed to use the set pieces to snatch a win. Liverpool had a start under Arne Slot that he could not even dream about.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 3-0 Liverpool. Slot’s men outclass Glasner’s boys with a scoreline that thoroughly reflects how Liverpool will play and the number of points they return to Liverpool with them.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-0 Liverpool. The Reds are top of the league with 15 points from six games. After the summer upheaval, Palace has not found its feet yet, and they will not cause problems for the league leaders. Liverpool goes into the international break at the top of the table.

West Ham vs Ipswich Town

West Ham: The Hammers conceded remarkably early vs Brentford but then fought back to level it in a game where they will be kicking themselves that they didn’t win with a whole load of extra shots and chances created in comparison to the Bees

Ipswich Town: Ipswich are starting to accumulate some points. They have four points from their last four games, and the schedule begins to ease up after a tough start.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 3-0 West Ham. Ipswich have looked poor away from home, and I feel the Hammer’s extra quality will shine through and help dismantle the Tractor boys.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-1 Ipswich. Ipswich are a good transition team, and West Ham struggles massively with transitions. The tractor boys get their first win of the season and go to the international break on a high.

Arsenal vs Southampton

Arsenal: The Gunners are starting to get closer to their level. They dominated Leicester and should have had a much easier win. They also easily dismantled PSG in midweek.

Southampton: Where do I start? It was an abysmal performance vs Bournemouth with a changed side. Although the formula didn’t need changing, we had our best XI. Nevertheless, the performance and attitude of the players were woeful, and our kryptonite in set pieces will be our downfall vs Arsenal

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 6-1 Arsenal. Southampton will get humiliated, and Arsenal’s ridiculous strength on set pieces will cause severe damage.

Yassin’s prediction: 3-0 Arsenal. The Gunners will win this one easily. There is a vast difference in quality. Southampton is no match for Arsenal, especially in the Emirates.

Leicester City vs Bournemouth

Leicester City: Leicester were unlucky not to achieve a point at the Emirates had it not been for the late show from the Gunners. two significant strikes from James Justin pulled it back, and there were some signs of positivity for the Foxes

Bournemouth: The Cherries showed the difference in quality between them and Southampton. They finished their chances and won the game with ease.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 2-0 Bournemouth. As Yassin says below Leicester and Southampton have been very similar thus far however Bournemouth will be no match and they will continue their solid start tp the 24/25 campaign.

Yassin’s prediction: 3-1 Bournemouth. When dismantling Southampton, the Cherries showed a vast difference in quality between them and newly promoted teams. Leicester is as close to Southampton level, and the Cherries get another easy win.

Brentford vs Wolves

Brentford: The Bees have been fierce and stung within the first minute for three games running, which has to be some record. They will be happy with a point vs West Ham, especially considering how the game panned out. Thomas Frank will see this Wolves fixture as a golden opportunity to obtain an easy 3 points.

Wolves: Wolves had one of the toughest schedules to start the season. They have visited the Emirates and Villa Park and welcomed Chelsea, Newcastle, and Liverpool. All these teams are expected to be in the battle for Top 4. Wolves have also been unlucky with their opponents’ exceptional finishing against them. They conceded 16 goals from 11.04 Xga. They have been unlucky with the tough schedule and their opponent’s elite finishing.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 4-0 Brentford. I have to stop making bee sting jokes, but the bees will sting for four as they downplay the Wolves’ nonexistent bite thus far.

Yassin’s prediction: 2-1 Brentford. Brentford knows how to win these types of games. After seeing Wolves concede twice from set pieces against Liverpool, they will be using their strongest side to get a win against Wolves.

Manchester City vs Fulham

Manchester City: The Sky Blues show no mercy with a decent point away from home vs Newcastle, and they will be looking and hunting for total points vs The West London side

Fulham: Fulham continued its bright start to the season. It has been among the best teams in the season’s first six games. They have 11 points from six games. They are 8th in Xg and 3rd in Xga. This is a dream start for Marco Silva’s side.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 5-0 City. Erling will be Erling, making City unstoppable as they achieve their objective for the day and bring home maximum points.

Yassin’s prediction: 3-1 Manchester City. While Fulham had their bright start, City at the Etihad is a different beast. The Citizens did not win their last two Premier League games, and they do not generally stay three games in a row without a win. The defending champions show the difference in quality between both teams.

Everton vs Newcastle United

Everton: The Magpies put in their best performance in the league season against Manchester City but they could not win. That performance should give them confidence though.

Newcastle United: Newcastle will be satisfied with a point vs the Champions and will hope they can win vs woeful Everton to continue their strong start to the season. (Does anyone else feel like this is a Derby but not a Derby?)

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 4-2 Newcastle. An entertaining and enthralling encounter leaves for a spectacle on Sky Sports, but Newcastle leaves Goodison Park for the last time with all three points.

Yassin’s prediction: 3-1 Newcastle. Newcastle overperforms their Xg and Everton underperforms theirs. The Magpies have higher quality, and they roll to an easy win.

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest

Chelsea: The Blues put in a dominant performance against Brighton. They created enough chances and only individual mistakes cost them their two goals. The Blue are buzzing with confidence after their bright start to the season.

Nottingham Forest: A poorer-than-normal performance vs Fulham meant that Forest suffered their first defeat of the season and will now look ahead to see if they can be the blockade to stop Maresca’s men marching on.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 3-1 Chelsea. Cole Palmer is doing Cole Palmer-type things with Maresca continuing his impressive start at Chelsea, as eyebrows are being raised at just how good this side can be.

Yassin’s prediction: 1-0 Forest. Forest uses the blueprint of their win at Anfield to give Chelsea their second loss at home this season.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Aston Villa: Villa have just made club history beating Bayern Munich 1-0 and will be on a massive high entering this fixture, hoping they can again walk away with three points.

Manchester United: Manchester United looked like a league 2 team against Tottenham. By any metric, it was an atrocious performance, and now they must go to one of the toughest grounds in the country to save Erik Ten Hag’s job.

Predictions

Alex’s prediction: 4-0 Villa. The Villans are rampant and dismantled. A low-on-confidence, uninspiring, and woeful Manchester United side.

Yassin’s prediction: 3-1 Aston Villa. One team buzzing with confidence and another one drained of it. One team played outstanding football and defeated Bayern Munich, while the other team struggled to defeat Twente and suffered a humiliating loss to Spurs. Only Villa wastefulness saves the Red Devils from a humiliating result. A new dawn for Villa was started by Emery beating Ten Hag 3-1, and a new dawn will shine for United by the same result.

Brighton vs Tottenham

Brighton: The Seagulls have had their first loss of the season, a mistake-heavy defeat to Chelsea at the hands of a Cole Palmer quadruple. They will look ahead at the tough challenge of Spurs, who looked very, very good, versus Manchester United. It will be up to Brighton to see if they can handle that challenge and cement their name as potential contenders for European Football come the summer.

Tottenham: The lilywhites looked rampant against Manchester United. They could have won 10-0. They created nine big chances; this was as complete a performance as you can find in the Premier League.

Predictions

Yassin’s prediction: 3-3. Brighton got humiliated at Stamford Bridge while Tottenham dominated Manchester United at Old Trafford. Two teams that play offside trap, expansive, and attacking football. Expect a fun and open game at the Amex.
