The biggest game of the weekend and the biggest game in the season sees Bayer Leverkusen host Bayern Munich in a must-win game for the hosts.
For Leverkusen, they have a near full-strength squad with obvious absentees Martin Terrier (Achilles) and Jeanuël Belocian (ACL) who will miss the rest of the season, missing. While Mario Hermoso will miss the game against Bayern on Saturday with a stomach infection.
Last weekend, Leverkusen rested several key players in their 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg. Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Patrik Schick were all benched and came off of the bench last Saturday, Edmond Tapsoba also sat on the bench but was not brought on while Alejandro Grimaldo was suspended. All are expected to return to the starting 11 on Saturday.
Bayern are coming off a 2-1 win against Celtic in the Champions League in midweek. The game provided no additional casualties. Alphonso Davies and João Palhinha both miss the game in Leverkusen but both have begun their return from injury as they were in team training earlier today.
Min-Jae Kim and Aleksandar Pavlovic were both rested against Celtic with both expected to return to the Bayern starting 11. While Hiroki Ito also made his debut for Bayern after an injury-ridden first couple of months at the club, he offers an alternative at left-back but will unlikely be used from the start.
