Mauricio Pochettino says he has not spoken with Chelsea’s owners in months amid uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.

Chelsea tasted more Wembley heartbreak last weekend in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City and it was followed up by a 5-0 humiliation at the Emirates against Arsenal- which was Chelsea’s heaviest London derby defeat since 1986.

It’s another season without any silverware for Chelsea and their elimination from the FA Cup means they have virtually no chance of qualifying for Europe next season, unless they can pull off a remarkable climb up the table in what little remains of this season.

As a result, the pressure has mounted on Pochettino, and it is still unclear whether he will be in the Chelsea dugout next season.

The Argentine said he has not spoken with Todd Boehly for quite some time and that all communication goes through sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.

Pochettino said: “To be honest, in the last few months, we didn’t cross, or message. We communicated through the sporting directors, but nothing has changed.

“We are not changing my view or my feelings, even in the last few weeks we are not crossing texts.”

Pochettino also defended Chelsea’s poor form, insisting he is not the only one who should be criticised for the club’s dreadful form.

He said: “It looks like only I need to improve. It is always the coach who needs to improve to deserve to be here next season.

“We are all responsible for the situation and we all need to improve that we deserve to be here next season. That is a good question.”
