One player who is apparently refusing to sign a new contract at his club could end up at Chelsea as a free agent.

There’s many situations going on at Chelsea right now, but none more complicated than this one that we will get into more further below.

EXCLUSIVE! Enzo Maresca asks Chelsea to sign a new centre back!!

One situation is Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea that has actually gone pretty quiet this week. It seems some people have been desperate to get Garnacho to Chelsea going in the news, but it’s seemingly died off. The Telegraph reported that the two clubs are still miles apart of the valuation of the player, so I’m not quite as sure now whether it will even go ahead or not.

And another situation is Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who may well end up at Newcastle this summer should they decide to sell wantaway striker Alexander Isak. Apparently their recruitment team are warming to the idea of signing Jackson this window.

But there are some other situations going on that are not quite as hyped up or talked about in the media right now.

Doukouré could wind up at Chelsea

Strasbourg midfielder Ismaël Doukouré is currently refusing to sign a new contract with the club and as a result is training with the reserves. This could lead him to join Chelsea as a free agent next summer in 2026.

That’s at least what L’Equipe are indicating, and they cover Chelsea when discussing the latest on his contract situation.

The newspaper says his refusal to sign an extension can result in a ‘tempting prospect to join Chelsea’ on a free transfer next summer.

Chelsea apparently tried to sign him this window

Another report from L’Equipe explains Chelsea’s attempts to try and sign the 22-year-old earlier this window, but that didn’t go anywhere.

Of course, the strangest thing about all of this is Strasbourg and Chelsea have the same owners!
