AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw against Feyenoord on Tuesday evening and thus got knocked out of the Champions League. Theo Hernandez was mainly to play for an unnecessary red card and below are the player ratings for the Rossoneri.
If you haven’t already, make sure to check out how we decide the player ratings. From the scale to what affects the rating, we have compiled everything there.
Maignan (6): He couldn’t do much about the goal and overall, he did well with his feet. He also anticipated some balls high up the pitch at the end.
Walker (5.5): It was a good start to the game for him with a great ball for Pulisic that led to the corner before the first goal. However, aside from a shot that was nicely saved, he struggled to have an impact and also lost the battle with Bueno in the second half.
Thiaw (7 – MOTM): We saw some fantastic passing from him this evening, not just having success with low vertical passes but also long balls to the flanks. He used all of his strength in the defending and also got the assist for Gimenez’s goal.
Pavlovic (6.5): It was a really good pass on Feyenoord’s goal, we must admit, but perhaps the Serbian could have done slightly better in keeping the opponent out. That being said, he defended really well aside from that and was also one of the few to try things in attack.
Hernandez (2): It feels like a repeat of Musah’s display against Dinamo Zagreb, with two incredibly silly and unnecessary yellow cards. Milan were en route to a good win, completely dominating Feyenoord, but the red card changed everything. He should hang his head in shame because that dive was unacceptable and he knows it.

Musah (6): He did well most of the time, especially in terms of positioning and covering for his teammates. Conceicao put him at left-back for quite some time after the red card and he did well there too.
Reijnders (5.5): We saw some nice passes from him tonight, but he also had a few opportunities to find the back of the net but failed to hit the target. Perhaps the result is affecting our judgment a little bit here, but he can still do more. A poor giveaway in defence also comes to mind.
Pulisic (6.5): It was a great cross on the goal from him, finding Thiaw at the back post, and he also helped win the corner in the first place with an early run. He was involved in several good moves after that, but perhaps his shooting could have been more precise (a couple of chances not taken).
Joao Felix (5): Sadly, although there were good moments from him, he made too many mistakes in the final third. He was also booked for a silly foul in the second half. One positive thing to say, though, is that he actually had some success in the aerial duels.
Leao (5.5): He’s always so difficult to rate, but in such an important game, the feeling is that he didn’t get the most out of his abilities. He had plenty of opportunities to run at the Feyenoord defence but even if he won the 1v1, the cross/shot was never good enough. Of course, he also created a lot by himself but the final product is what matters.
Gimenez (7): Right place, right time just 36 seconds into the game. The ability to find the right spaces in the box is so important, and something Milan had been lacking before. He also combined well with his teammates and in particular, he had a good pass for Joao Felix. It was a mistake to take him off because he handled the pressing very well.
Bartesaghi (5.5): Obviously, it’s a difficult situation to enter into but he could have done better on the goal, for sure. The rest was okay from him, truth be told, but he’s still not quite ready to feature regularly for the first team.
Fofana (5.5): Not dreadful, but most of his passes were blocked tonight. It just looks so funny when he tries to come up with a smart vertical pass and then it gets easily stopped. It happens far too often with him sadly.
Chukwueze (N/A): We didn’t see enough to give him a rating.
Abraham (N/A): We didn’t see enough to give him a rating.
