The Athletic’s deal sheet is out today with interesting content on a number of fronts.
It’s mainly focused on the outgoing players we’ve got lined up, with a major selling spree coming after the Club World Cup focused on players who aren’t with the group in the USA:
“Returning loanees Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Armando Broja, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga and Carney Chukwuemeka are all up for sale,” Simon Johnson’s piece claims.
But at least one of the players still with Enzo Maresca’s squad will also go:
“Chelsea intend to talk to striker Marc Guiu about their plan for him after the Club World Cup. The 19-year-old is expected to leave on loan. Ipswich Town are one of the clubs that are keen,” Johnson adds, repeating a rumour we heard about more than a month ago.

Guiu’s time at Chelsea has been a little unfortunate. He waited so long for his chance, playing largely in the B team, then got injured in the very same game that first choice striker Nicolas Jackson did, killing his only chance of a decent run in the first team.
He’s back with the group now, but with Joao Pedro joining the attack this week it looks like Guiu’s hopes of more minutes on this tour are effectively over.
A big, hard working and physical player, we’re keen to see how Guiu gets on with Ipswich. He will effectively be replacing Liam Delap up top, who has come into Chelsea to replace him, in an interesting twist of fate.
Let’s hope both have bath great seasons and show what they can do for their respective teams.
