Genoa striker Andrea Pinamonti took to social media to thank his former coach Alberto Gilardino, who was sacked by the Grifone on Tuesday, with the club set to replace him with Patrick Vieira.
Pinamonti arrived at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris last summer and scored four goals in his first 11 Serie A matches under Gilardino, including winners in his side’s only two league victories of the season.

In an Instagram story published on his official account, the 25-year-old described his former manager as a ‘truthful and loyal’ person, adding that he’s sure that his future will be littered with ‘great achievements’.
“A truthful and loyal person,” the striker wrote.
“In just a few months, you’ve taught me so much, and a simple thank you will never be enough.
“Best of luck, coach, for your future, which I’m sure will be full of great achievements.”
