Arsenal star Mikel Merino scored a decisive brace in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday, and Italy international Riccardo Calafiori gave his teammate an Italian nickname.
Calafiori was introduced at minute 76 on Saturday to replace Myles Lewis-Skelly and saw Merino score two late goals to give Arsenal all three points at the King Power Stadium.
The Italian defender celebrated with Merino on and off the pitch and even gave his teammate a nickname on Instagram, calling him ‘Michele’, the equivalent of Mikel in Italian.
Calafiori joined Arsenal from Bologna last summer and has two goals and one assist in 21 appearances across all competitions.
