Manchester City’s players will be made aware of at least 22 things that they need to focus on ahead of the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola has already anticipated that his squad will be in for a far from straight forward afternoon at the Etihad Stadium, predicting a contest similar to that of Aston Villa at the end of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

The Villa Park side earned a 0-2 lead in the second-half of the meeting on the final day of the season, only for City to respond with two goals from Ilkay Gundogan and a long-range effort from Rodrigo to win the game in the final 10 minutes.

Guardiola is certainly not taking any chances, and has spoken at length this week about the dangers being posed by David Moyes and his Hammers side in the final game of the campaign to beat Arsenal to the Premier League title.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Pep Guardiola listed 22 items concerning the clash with West Ham this weekend that his Manchester City side will need to be aware of in order to win the game and the Premier League title.

“Don’t talk about nothing else than what we have to do to win,” Guardiola insisted, before going on to speak at length about the threats being posed by David Moyes and his West Ham side this weekend.

“During the bad moments, what we have to do to control them, the transitions, the Kudus, the Bowen, the Antonio, the Paqueta, the set-pieces, with the long balls, Soucek and the other ones.

“How they defend every single ball when the ball is on the goal-kicks, on the throw-ins, in the free-kicks, in the corners, how you control Antonio in the channels. A lot of stuff that West Ham, they always demand what you have to do every single inch, every single minute, every single second doing it perfect.”

Guardiola continued, “This is the only thing on my mind. The rest? I don’t want to play the game thinking of the consequences, thinking what is going to happen IF…

“This is a problem in these types of games, you have to be more than ever focussed, what they have to do to score a goal, how to break the pressing when it happens, how to break when they are deep, how many people arrive in the box, where are the gaps, how the player heads the ball or dribble to score a goal.

“In the bad moments, feel the support of our people. This is what we have to think about. The rest? The rest is later.”
