Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has lost hair during his time at the Etihad Stadium, Ederson has revealed during a new conversation on the Catalan coach.

The Brazilian has been instrumental in Guardiola’s rise to English football dominance since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2017, remaining undroppable from starting line-ups and holding off stern competition from back-up goalkeepers.

Ederson’s abilities on the ball have been prioritised by Pep Guardiola and goalkeeping staff when making selections, with Manchester City priding themselves on being able to build attacking phases of play from their own goal line.

As such, having worked together for the last seven years, Ederson is in a prime position to speak about Pep Guardiola in great detail, offering an insight into what it is like to work alongside one of the greatest coaches the sport has ever seen.

Speaking during a new conversation with ESPN Brasil, Ederson has revealed that Pep Guardiola is now a ‘calmer’ coach compared to the one he first met in 2017, despite the legendary manager having ‘less hair’ since then.

“You can always change, there are always changes. And just as he’s changed, I’ve changed too, and he’s getting more experienced, with less hair,” Ederson admitted. “But there I see him as a calmer coach now.”

The Brazilian continued, “It’s also because the team is already used to the way we play, we don’t train too much, we train the basics, because it’s a team that’s been together for a long time.

“So that adds a lot to our work and what we impose on the pitch. So I think that in that respect I see a more relaxed coach.”

Manchester City have the opportunity to claim yet more silverware this weekend, as Ederson and Pep Guardiola will have their eyes on a fourth consecutive Premier League title and an FA Cup crown at the end of the season.

City defeated Tottenham in North London on Tuesday night meaning that victory over West Ham United on the final day of the Premier League season will hand them their own league title back despite intense competition from Arsenal.
