Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson could remain at the Etihad Stadium this summer despite receiving a huge contract offer from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a big-money exit from Manchester City this summer, with Pep Guardiola facing the prospect of changing his first-choice goalkeeper for the first time since Ederson’s arrival from Benfica in 2017.

Ederson, who has made over 330 appearances and won a handful of trophies including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League at Manchester City, has been the subject of a major offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, with weekly wages reportedly worth in excess of £600,000.

The shot-stopper was ruled out of the Blues’ concluding matches against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium in May after suffering a facial fracture, following a nasty collision during the second-half of the Blues’ 0-2 win over Tottenham in north London.

The Brazilian could therefore have played his final game for the Sky Blues, with Manchester City potentially set to be forced into the market for a new goalkeeper, should Al-Nassr agree a deal with Etihad executives.

Ederson could join former teammate Aymeric Laporte and Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi Pro League club, with Riyad Mahrez having also swapped east Manchester for the Middle East last summer.

The goalkeeper is contracted at Manchester City until 2026, and could be offered a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, following Stefan Ortega agreeing fresh terms to remain at the Premier League champions for an additional year.

Al-Nassr could however be set to u-turn on their offer to the 30-year-old, with outlet TeamTalk claiming that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is the Saudi Arabian club’s ‘main target’ for the summer transfer window.

The Saudi side are reportedly set to begin transfer negotiations with Ederson’s international teammate following the Copa America in the United States, with Brazil having suffered a quarter-final defeat to Uruguay on Sunday.

Brazil suffered a penalty shoot-out loss, with the nation’s exit expected to allow Al-Nassr to target a move for Alisson amid fears surrounding Manchester City’s price tag for Ederson.

Manchester City paid £35 million for Ederson in 2017, and are claimed to want £50 million to sanction the sale of the 30-year-old goalkeeper this summer.
