According to Teamtalk, the Whites are interested in signing the playmaker ahead of the expiration of his contract.

O’Hare is set to depart the CBS Arena at the end of June, having not agreed to new terms to stay with the Sky Blues.

The 25-year-old has earned a lot of plaudits for his performances in the Championship, contributing six goals and three assists from 31 appearances in the league last season (all stats from Fbref).

However, the Yorkshire outfit faces competition from the likes of Leicester City, Celtic, Rangers, Southampton and Burnley in the race to his signature.

Robinson believes that the addition of O’Hare to Daniel Farke’s side this summer would be a great move for the club.

However, he expects any incomings at Elland Road in the transfer window will be largely dictated by whatever outgoings happen first.

Leeds are going to be linked with a lot of free transfers because of the financial situation they’re in at the moment,” said Robinson, via MOT Leeds.

"He’s a good player.

"He’s had a couple of very, very good seasons at Coventry City.

“They came very close to getting into the Premier League two seasons ago, narrowly missing out.

“He’s played regularly at that level, he’s experienced and started his young career at Aston Villa.

“He knows the Championship and he’s a good quality player.

“It would be a good addition if Leeds can secure him on a free transfer.

“We can sit and speculate on Leeds’ incomings for as long as we want, but the biggest thing is in the outgoings.

“It’s easy to identify positions that need addressing in an ideal world but we’re not in an ideal world.

“Players are going to leave.

“So, players like O’Hare are going to be linked but until they know which gaps need plugging, it’s difficult to speculate.”

O’Hare struggled with injury issues in the last couple of seasons, but made his return to full fitness midway through the 2023/24 campaign.

He went on to cement himself again as a key player in Mark Robins’ side as Coventry pushed for promotion to the Premier League.

O’Hare was also key to the team’s run to the FA Cup semi-final, which saw them eliminated in heartbreaking fashion against eventual-winners Manchester United.

The playmaker’s contract expires later this month, with his future set to be away from the Championship side.

O’Hare signing would be a strong addition for Leeds

The big talking point surrounding Leeds’ summer business this year is their financial situation.

So adding someone of O’Hare’s quality as a free agent would be a great start to the transfer market, if they can pull it off.

Leeds will face stiff competition, but if they can offer him guaranteed regular game time then he may opt to remain in the Championship for the time being.

While he is still on the market, Leeds should be doing what they can to get involved in the race for his signature, at the very least, as he would be a great addition to their attacking options.
