Manchester City’s Jess Park expressed her ‘incredible’ feeling after her first City goals inspired a 3-1 victory over Manchester United in the FA WSL at the Etihad.

The 22-year-old broke the deadlock after Leila Ouhabai managed to pick out Park, who was unmarked in the box, to tap home on the volley.

Just before half-time, a corner made its way out to Hasegawa and she floated a ball in to Alanna Kennedy, who headed it down to Park and she showed great striker’s instinct to ghost in at the back post to poke home past Earps and grab her second.

The youngster was not finished there, as she played her part in assisting Khadija “Bunny” Shaw, who after the resulting pass, broke into the box and coolly slotted home for City’s third.

The visitor’s managed to pull a goal back, which only proved to be a consolation, as Gareth Taylor’s side ran out 3-1 winners at the Etihad, and, at the time of writing, leapfrogged Chelsea to sit top of the Barclays Women’s Super League before their trip to West Ham United.

In her post-match interview with BBC Sport after the victory, Park was elated to score her first goals in the WSL in City blue.

“Incredible, I don’t think there’s a feeling that compares to it,” the England international began.

“I’ve been working really hard and that was just the final bit that I wanted and today I managed to get that.”

Park also took the time to praise her teammates for the part they played.

“With the girls around me, we’ve just got so much confidence in each other as a group at the moment and that shows on the pitch.

“We work so hard together on and off the ball and that helps me play with confidence.”
