Parallels have emerged between the current Inter Milan season and the 2009-10 Treble campaign at this stage.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are at a crucial juncture of their season.
And the signs have been mixed over the past few weeks.
Inter have not had an ideal few weeks. They have dropped points against all of AC Milan, Fiorentina, Juventus, and Napoli.
Meanwhile, in the Champions League things are only going to get more difficult going forward now that it’s time for the knockout rounds.
The Nerazzurri will not underestimate this week’s outing against Feyenoord.
But as the Gazzetta note, the Nerazzurri are right around where they were in their greatest modern season.
Inter currently have 58 points in the Serie A table. They had 59 at this tage of the 2009-10 campaign.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan have a Champions League round of sixteen tie on the way. As they did in 2010.
And the Nerazzurri face a two-legged Coppa Italia semifinal against AC Milan in April. Fifteen years ago, a semifinal against Fiorentina awaited them.
Then, the Gazzetta noted, Inter could break the record for most matches in a season by an Italian team. Currently, that record belongs to AC Milan, with 61 matches in the 2002-03 season.
