Former England international Owen Hargreaves has highlighted one clear issue at Chelsea but the club wont action it.

Chelsea have been doing some good things in the market this summer and making some good signings, but you can’t help but feel they are still not quite there yet to completing the squad.

I think most Chelsea fans would agree that they still need to upgrade the goalkeeper department this summer and sign a new one. They literally tried to sign Mike Maignan earlier in the summer but that broke down, so they clearly felt that they needed one, just like the fans do. They’ve been linked with Maignan many times in recent seasons.

There’s even credible reports suggesting that they have looked at signing a former AC Milan goalkeeper in the shape of Gianluigi Donnarumma, who looks set to be leaving PSG soon.

So make no mistake, whatever the reports might now say, Chelsea are clearly NOT happy with the current goalkeepers they have.

Oh look, another report that has clearly come direct from Chelsea’s PR department, claiming they are happy with the goalkeepers they have. It makes ZERO sense to me.

Kieran Gill of The Daily Mail has been told by Chelsea (I assume) that they have faith in the keepers they have got.

Big mistake

If Chelsea do not sign a new goalkeeper, it’ll be a HUGE mistake, and it will come back to haunt them. Owen Hargreaves is spot on here, and most fans feel this too…

“Estevão and Palmer together with Joao Pedro as well… I mean, if Chelsea just add a goalkeeper they’ll be in the top-four, for sure.”

Interestingly, the article that went with the comments above by Kieran Gill, is also saying Chelsea will come under scrutiny if they don’t sign a new goalkeeper and they will, it’s that simple.
