Osmar Stabile was elected president of Corinthians this Monday (25) by the Deliberative Council. He received 199 votes, surpassing Antonio Roque Citadini, who obtained 50, and André Castro, with 14. The voting also registered one blank vote. The new leader will head the club for an interim term until 2026, when the current three-year period ends and new direct elections will be held.
The appointment of the new president took place after the impeachment of Augusto Melo, who was accused of irregularities in the sponsorship contract with the betting company VaideBet. He had been provisionally removed by the Council and, on the 9th, was dismissed by the General Assembly of members. As established by the club's bylaws, the choice of the interim president was up to the 299 councilors, of whom 264 – both triennial and lifetime members – attended the vote.

Stabile had already been serving as interim president since Augusto Melo’s removal. He was the 1st vice-president on the slate elected in October 2023 and will now fulfill the interim term alongside Armando Mendonça. The voting was conducted by CD president Romeu Tuma Júnior and proceeded without incident.
In addition to the presidential election, the councilors also chose the new vice-president of the Deliberative Council, following the resignation of Roberson de Medeiros. The legal superintendent Leonardo Pantaleão received the most votes, with 119, and is leaving the board to assume the chair of the council and the presidency of the Ethics and Discipline Committee. Also running for the position were Peterson Ruan Aiello do Couto Ramos, with 75 votes, and Rodrigo Bittar, with 64.

With the election of Stabile and Pantaleão, Corinthians ends a period of political uncertainty and begins a new management cycle, whose main task will be to focus efforts on financial recovery, restoring administrative credibility, and leading the club until the direct elections in 2026.
