Real Madrid face off against Osasuna in their next league game on Saturday night, and it will be a tough matchup given that it will kick off at El Sadar.
The men in white have a good record at the venue heading into the game and are undefeated at El Sadar since 2011. However, it will still not be easy considering that even Barcelona lost at the stadium earlier this season.
With the crucial return leg vs Manchester City still pending, it remains to be seen to what capacity Carlo Ancelotti opts to rotate his squad. After all, the league race is currently tighter than ever.
Speaking to the media ahead of the weekend’s clash against Real Madrid, Osasuna manager Vicente Moreno was asked about what the game stood for and how he rated his team’s chances.
He began by speaking about what was on the line and how tomorrow’s game will be a massive one for his team.
“The match could not be more attractive. It is a top match at all levels. For our people, it is a match marked on the calendar for all that it stands for and the repercussions it has.”

On facing Real Madrid, who recently beat Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, the Osasuna coach said,
“We will try to enjoy the encounter being aware of the difficulty. We have to face the game as a family, all together. Those on the field, those on the sidelines, the stands, and even you,” he added.
Osasuna have drawn three of their last five games across all competitions and only won against Real Sociedad at home. When asked he he saw another draw as a favourable result, he said:
“I don’t accept the draw. It is true that we are drawing many games. We also lose a few, it’s not easy to win.”
“We want to win, I don’t accept the draw. Before the game, we have the illusion of competing and winning. You have to play a perfect game and even then sometimes you don’t win against these teams,” he added on his team’s mentality.
Finally, he was asked if it was a bad time to face Los Blancos, especially given their win midweek at the Etihad Stadium.
“It’s never a good time to receive Madrid, in any scenario it’s competitive. We have to make them not have the day,” he concluded.
