La Liga outfit Osasuna have on Monday announced a contract extension in the club’s first-team ranks.
The player to have put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club? Aitor Fernández.
Goalkeeper Aitor, for his part, is yet to take to the pitch in Spain’s top-flight this season.
Sitting behind first-choice Sergio Herrera in Vicente Moreno’s pecking order between the posts, the 33-year-old, though, is evidently still considered an important figure in Pamplona.
After racking up 32 appearances over the course of the last two seasons, Aitor, on Monday, has in turn seen his professionalism rewarded.
As per a statement across Osasuna’s website and social media platforms, the shot-stopper has committed to a new contract through the summer of 2027:
‘Club Atlético Osasuna has reached an agreement with Aitor Fernández to extend the contract that unites them until June 30, 2027. In this way, the Navarrese entity renews the goalkeeper’s contract for two more seasons than planned in his previous contractual relationship, which expired at the end of the current campaign. The goalkeeper from Guipuzcoa will maintain a termination clause of 14,000,000 euros in LaLiga EA Sports.’
