Lautaro Martinez and Rafael Leao are the only two Serie A stars among the top 20 most valuable Champions League players this season.

The 2024-25 Champions League campaign starts today, and two Serie A clubs will already take centre stage: Juventus will host PSV at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, while Milan will welcome Premier League giants Liverpool at San Siro.

The Rossoneri have one of the most valuable players in the competition, Rafael Leao.

According to Transfermarkt, the Portuguese winger is the 20th most valuable Champions League footballer in 2024-25, with a transfer value of €90m, the same as Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and Barcelona’s Gavi.

Lautaro Martinez is the only other Serie A player in the top 20. The Inter captain ranks 15h with an estimated transfer value of €110m.

Nicolò Barella is the Italian player with the highest transfer value, according to Transfermarkt, at €80m.

Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland are the most valuable players in the Champions League this season, with an estimated transfer value of €180m.
