Empoli have announced the appointment of Roberto D’Aversa as their new head coach so only Cagliari are still without a manager for 2024-25.

All Serie A clubs have confirmed their coach for next season, except Cagliari who are yet to announce Claudio Ranieri’s replacement.

Multiple reports claim ex-Empoli boss Davide Nicola will take charge of the Sardinians, but there has been no official announcement from the club so far.

Only one Serie A club still without coach as Empoli announce D’Aversa

Empoli were the latest team to confirm their new boss for next season, announcing the appointment of D’Aversa on Tuesday morning.

The Italian tactician has signed a contract until June 2026.

D’Aversa had been sacked by Lecce this past March due to a poor run of form, which culminated with the coach trying to headbutt Hellas Verona striker Thomas Henry.

Three of the top five Serie A clubs in 2023-24, Milan, Juventus and Bologna, have changed their coach for the next campaign, while Inter and Atalanta confirmed Simone Inzaghi and Gian Piero Gasperini, respectively.
