On-loan Barcelona star throws backing behind Guido Rodríguez signing | OneFootball

A member of the Barcelona loan army has this week provided his take on the ongoing speculation linking Guido Rodríguez with a move to Catalunya’s capital.

The name of midfielder Guido has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Barcelona over the course of the last week.

This comes amid widespread confirmation that the Argentine is in advanced talks with the Barca brass, over the terms of a pre-contract agreement:

Guido, for his part, will see his terms with Real Betis come to a close in the summer, with little progress having been made in negotiations towards a renewal to date.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his teammate’s potential arrival in Barcelona was put to another of Betis’ stars.

The player in question? Chadi Riad.

Defender Riad is currently in the midst of a season-long loan stint at the Estadio Benito Villamarín, from none other than Barcelona.

And, when asked about Guido linking up with Xavi’s squad with a view to next season, the Moroccan international did not hesitate in assuring that the 30-year-old boasts the necessary qualities:

“Guido is a great player and would work with all teams,” Riad began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo.

Pressed further on whether he could influence his teammate’s eventual decision, the 20-year-old went on to add:

“I have nothing to do with his future, Guido will see.”
