Olympique Marseille have refused to give up on Valentin Carboni and a deal could soon be found with Inter, who’ve already started planning their next steps.

The 19-year-old forward was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America on Sunday, having made a brief cameo appearance in the win over Peru. He was brought to the tournament after impressing on loan at Monza this term.

Inter believe in Carboni and Simone Inzaghi recently suggested he’s the ‘future’ of the club, but despite that they’re open to selling the talented forward for around €30m. The Nerazzurri haven’t made any large investments in the transfer market yet, waiting to generate some resources.

Sport Mediaset via TMW details how Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille are continuing to put the pressure on for Carboni, willing to pay €30m for the 19-year-old forward. A slight raise could arrive to help bridge the gap between offer and request.

Should the Argentinian talent be sold, the Nerazzurri would then turn their attention to Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson, hoping to set up a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached.
