A new song for Alexis Mac Allister has gone viral and Liverpool fans are loving it. Is it heading to Anfield?

Arne Slot has hit the ground running as the Reds’ new head coach and, barring a disappointing loss to Nottingham Forest, Liverpool have looked as though they are ready to compete with the very best teams.

It is hard to select one stand out player from Slot’s short tenure at Anfield and a number of players have stepped up so far this season.

Mohamed Salah looks back to his best, with three goals and four assists in six games and Luis Diaz has reached a new level under Slot, scoring five goals in five Premier League matches.

Ryan Gravenberch has also become a mainstay in the Reds’ starting XI despite Liverpool looking to sign someone in his position over the summer.

Liverpool’s unsung hero

One Liverpool player that has been a consistently great performer under Slot has been Alexis Mac Allister.

Since he signed from Brighton in 2023, the Argentine has become a fan favourite at Anfield and has impressed fans with his versatility and commitment.

Despite his ‘fan favourite’ status, there hasn’t yet been an Alexis Mac Allister song ring around the Kop, but that may be about to change.

X, formerly known as Twitter, user @JohnPavParry shared a new Mac Allister song following Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.

The post now has almost 370,000 views on X and has been liked over 2,000 times.

‘Oh Mac Allister!’

The song would see Mac Allister join the likes of Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Diogo Jota as a current Liverpool player with a dedicated song.

The World Cup winner has played 52 times for the Reds, scoring seven goals and providing a further seven assists.

Mac Allister has started every game so far under Slot, despite some injury worries whilst on international duty, and is sure to have a big role at Anfield over the coming years.

If the song does catch on it will be a deserved recognition of Mac Allister’s ability and performances in a Liverpool shirt.
