Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Monday secured for himself a prestigious individual award.

This comes amid confirmation that the Frenchman has been named shared winner of the Gerd Müller Trophy.

The Gerd Müller prize, for those not familiar with its name, is handed out on an annual basis, at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The accolade aims to reward the top scorer for the previous season, taking into account goals scored at both club and international level.

And, this time round, two of the game’s most lethal finishers could not be separated atop the pile.

Real Madrid summer signing Kylian Mbappé, and Bayern Munich sharpshooter Harry Kane, both managed to find the net 52 times across all competitions in 2023/24.

As announced at the Ballon d’Or gala in Paris a short time ago, the pair, in turn, have been handed shared ownership of the Gerd Müller Trophy for 2024:
