Official: Real Madrid star handed no.9 jersey | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have late this week announced the latest player to have been afforded the honour of donning the club’s no.9 shirt.

The player in question? Endrick.

The no.9 jersey was of course recently vacated in Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad.

This comes after Kylian Mbappé opted to leave the number behind, to replace the outgoing Luka Modrić as Los Blancos’ no.10.

A direct race for the jersey, in turn, was kickstarted between up-and-coming strikers Endrick, and Gonzalo García.

Reports had since widely varied regarding the favourite, with some outlets having gone as far as to assure that breakout frontman Gonzalo was all but assured of the number.

As alluded to above, however, in the end, it was Endrick who was decided upon as the right man to take on the responsibility of being Real Madrid’s new no.9.
