La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Monday announced a fresh injury blow in the club’s first-team ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that star attacker Vinícius Jr. is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Wide-man Vinícius played his part on Sunday evening, notching an assist as Real Madrid made short work of Leganés in a La Liga clash.
En route to as much, however, the Brazilian picked up an injury setback.
As much was confirmed in a statement across the website and social media platforms of Los Blancos a short time ago:
‘Following tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player Vini Jr., he has been diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. His progress will be monitored.’
An exact timeline is yet to be set for Vinícius’ return, but early reports point towards an incoming absence spanning several weeks, a heavy blow for Real Madrid heading into the busy festive period.
