Bayern Munich have announced the contract extension of central-defender Roko Mijatović (17) by a further year until 2028. The Bayern Campus prospect joined the Bundesliga champions from neighbouring Ingolstadt in 2022, and made 25 appearances across all competitions last season for the U19s, including three German championship finals.
Speaking on the extension of Mijatović, Markus Weinzierl, Sporting Director of the Bayern Campus, spoke of the player’s talent and forthcoming goals.
“Roko was a regular in our U19 team last season, even though he could have still played for the U17 team,” said Weinzierl. “For the coming season, we have firmly scheduled him for our amateur team in the Regionalliga Bayern, as a younger player in the A-Juniors. We are convinced of his talent and believe in his potential. That’s why we’re delighted to have him with us for an even longer period.”
Mijatović is the latest youth player to extend their contract after the club extended Felipe Chávez’ deal beyond the summer.
The Peruvian joins the Bayern Campus from Augsburg in 2019 and featured for both Bayern U19s and Bayern II last season.
“Pippo is a very exciting talent,” said Jochen Sauer, Director of Youth Development and Campus. “We are all the more pleased that we were able to convince him of our continued development. We believe in his potential.”
