AC Milan will take on Juventus in about an hour and Paulo Fonseca has named his starting XI for the big game. While Matteo Gabbia is back, which is a big boost, Christian Pulisic is on the bench.
Gabbia trained with the team in the last few days and given that he’s been the best defender this season, having him back is a pretty big boost for Milan. On the other hand, Pulisic isn’t 100% and is starting the game on the bench.
As a result, Milan will have Yunus Musah – which is a surprise – and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the attacking trio, most likely similar to what we saw against Real Madrid. The rest of the XI is not really any surprise, even if some might think Fikayo Tomori should start over Malick Thiaw.
Juventus, meanwhile, have decided to go with a rather unorthodox 4-2-4 formation for the game. Especially when you consider that Teun Koopmeiners and Weston McKennie are the starting ‘strikers’, but Thiago Motta likely have some sort of plan in mind for the matter.
Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson, Thiaw, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Musah, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Morata.
Bench: Sportiello, Raveyre; Calabria, Pavlović, Terracciano, Tomori; Pulisic; Abraham, Camarda, Chukwueze, Okafor.
Official Juventus XI 4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Savona, Kalulu, Gatti, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Thuram; Conceicao, McKennie, Yildiz; Koopmeiners.
Bench: Perin, Pinsoglio; Danilo, Rouhi; Fagioli; Mbangula, Weah.
