Paris Saint-Germain invested heavily in Randal Kolo Muani (26), signing him for €95m in the dying hours of the transfer window in the summer of 2023. However, it was a move that never worked out for either party.

The big-money move came off the back of a strong campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt. After joining the Bundesliga side on a free transfer from formative club FC Nantes, the Frenchman netted 26 goals and registered 16 assists in 50 appearances for Frankfurt.

However, Kolo Muani could not replicate that form for PSG, with whom he managed just 11 goals and seven assists in 54 appearances. Speaking to Repubblica, he has now candidly spoken about his failure with Les Parisiens.

“A Frenchman in Paris, who cost €90m too, has a lot of pressure and not everyone can handle it. I didn’t manage to. I had opportunities but I couldn’t take them. It hurts me but, as I’ve said, it is football and I have no regrets,” said Kolo Muani.

Since leaving PSG on loan in January, the France international is once again showing his best form. In nine appearances for Juventus, he has five goals. However, his future remains uncertain. Kolo Muani joined the Serie A side on a straight loan deal, with no option to make the move permanent, even if reports suggest that Juventus are open to discussions over a permanent transfer. A more long-term decision will therefore have to be made in the summer.
