Real Madrid appear to have secured a significant signing for next season, as Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly on his way to the Spanish giants.
The English right-back has been a long-term target for Los Blancos, and as reported by MARCA, his decision to move to the Santiago Bernabeu was made quite some time ago.
In fact, despite multiple efforts from Liverpool to retain him, the 26-year-old remains firm in his choice, and nothing is expected to change his stance.
With Alexander-Arnold’s contract at Anfield set to expire at the end of the season, Real Madrid have moved swiftly to finalise all necessary agreements.
Negotiations between the club and the player have been completed, with both parties reaching a consensus on salary, contract duration, and other formalities.
Now, the only step left is for the defender to formally part ways with Liverpool before the official announcement is made.

Liverpool have been keen to keep Alexander-Arnold at the club, but their attempts have not yielded the desired outcome.
The Merseyside club even presented the full-back with a new contract offer, hoping to persuade him to extend his stay. However, the England international has rejected the proposal.
Even Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, has done his best to convince him to reconsider. However, the lure of joining one of the most prestigious clubs in world football appears to have been too strong.
At 26, Alexander-Arnold is entering the prime of his career, and the prospect of playing in La Liga under Carlo Ancelotti’s guidance seems to have been a decisive factor in his decision.
With his arrival at Real Madrid seemingly inevitable, there could be a knock-on effect within the squad. Lucas Vazquez, who has been a reliable option in the right-back position, might seek opportunities elsewhere.
The Spaniard has no shortage of offers, and his departure could be a direct consequence of Alexander-Arnold’s signing.
