Marko Arnautovic had a “nightmare” of a cameo appearance for Inter Milan in yesterday’s 2-2 Serie A draw with Lazio.

And in fact, the Austrian did not even play during the ninety minutes. He came on as a substitute at the beginning of stoppage time.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi was desperately trying to salvage the match after a late equalizer from the penalty spot by the Biancocelesti.

Therefore, Arnautovic represented a late throw of the dice to give the team as much attacking firepower as possible.

Arnautovic’s time on the pitch may have been brief. But it was certainly memorable.

It could have been for the right reasons, as Arnautovic made an attacking run to latch on to a knockdown by Francesco Acerbi just a yard from goal.

However, the 36-year-old completely failed to sort his feet out. He whiffed at the ball.

That miss could very well be the margin between Inter winning the Serie A title and not doing so.

Then, Arnautovic seemed to have made up for that horror miss. He stuck the ball in the back of the net right at the end of the match.

However, the former West Ham United and Bologna striker had failed to keep himself onside.
