AC Milan went to the Santiago Bernabeu yesterday and pulled off a 3-1 win against Real Madrid. It would be fair to say the Spanish media have responded accordingly.

Milan scored three times and ran out deserved winners against Real Madrid. The first goal of the game went to Malick Thiaw as he headed in a Christian Pulisic corner from close range, then Vinicius Junior’s penalty looked to have righted the ship for Los Blancos.

However, Milan came roaring back and retook the lead not long before half-time when Alvaro Morata pounced on a rebound from a Rafael Leao shot that Andriy Lunin had saved well.

In the second half, Tijjani Reijnders got his third goal in the Champions League this season as he collected a cut-back from Leao and finished.

Spanish media reaction

Marca: “0-4… and now this. After Barcelona’s thrashing, Milan also put the spotlight on Ancelotti’s men. Los Blancos repeat the mistakes of the classic in another mediocre match.”

AS: “The nightmare continues. Madrid also slips in the Champions League. A superior Milan leaves them 17th and with Anfield on the horizon. Morata scored and Tchoumeni was booed.”

Mundo Deportivo: “Another knockout. The Bernabeu experienced another dark night after the Clásico and the crisis for Real Madrid is breaking out. Ancelotti’s men continue to generate many doubts and whistles were heard during Leao’s recital.”

Sport: “Another ridiculous game at the Bernabeu. After Barca, Madrid was humiliated again at home and the fans booed the team and pointed the finger at Ancelotti.”
