Nicolas Jackson set to join Bayern Munich on loan from Chelsea | OneFootball

Multiple outlets report that Bayern Munich and Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Nicolas Jackson on loan.

According to The Athletic, the Bundesliga champions will pay a €15m loan fee for Jackson, making him the fourth most expensive loan ever. The agreement also contains a €65m buy option if Bayern wishes to make the move permanent. However, unless Jackson has a great season, it is very unlikely that Bayern will pay such a fee for the striker.

The 24-year-old will act as a backup to Harry Kane, as Bayern have struggled to find an understudy for the England captain, after pulling out of a deal for Newcastle-bound Nick Woltemade.

With the arrival of Jackson, Bayern’s front line will now consist of Kane, Luiz Diaz, Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise. The latter three are also versatile, like Jackson, and will be able to play in a variety of combinations of the front four that head coach Vincent Kompany prefers.
