Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, according to The Athletic.
The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, bagged 17 goals and six assists in his first season with the club.
However, a combination of on-field struggles, disciplinary lapses and heightened competition since then have placed his Chelsea career at a crossroads.
The arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have pushed Jackson down the pecking order, as both new signings impressed during Chelsea’s Club World Cup-winning run.
Despite having eight years remaining on his contract, Chelsea are open to offers for Jackson. He has garnered interest from Manchester United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
AC Milan and Napoli have also made approaches, but Jackson wants to remain in England, even if it means leaving Chelsea.
Jackson has publicly insisted his focus remains on Chelsea, but his frustration is reportedly growing given the persistent links with a move away elsewhere.
Combined with Chelsea’s pursuit of other attacking reinforcements, a transfer is more likely than ever.
Following their extended break from the Club World Cup, Jackson and his teammates resumed training yesterday ahead of Friday’s penultimate pre-season encounter against Bayer Leverkusen.
