In recent weeks, there have been numerous reports suggesting that Aston Villa are interested in signing Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, who has expressed a strong desire to leave for a new experience.

At one point, it seemed that everything was over before it even began. Aston Villa backed out of the deal, as revealed by reliable British newspapers such as Sun Sport.

These reports indicated that the main reason for Aston Villa’s withdrawal from the deal was that Chelsea had exaggerated the financial figure it had requested, which press reports indicated reached 80 million euros.

According to the same report, an unidentified top club has begun negotiations with the Senegalese international.

The 24-year-old forward is currently under contract with the London club until June 2033. Transfermarkt values the Banjul-born player at €50 million. Jackson earns an annual salary of €6,219,824.
