Newcastle United are eyeing a loan deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, according to the Sun.
Magpies manager Eddie Howe wants to strengthen his attack and believes the allure of Champions League football could tempt the England international into a move.
Newcastle see Rashford as an ideal player to rotate with Alexander Isak, given the number of games they will be playing next season. However, his £325,000 weekly wages could prove to be a stumbling block.
The 27-year-old is still under contract until 2028, and removing his huge salary from their wage bill would be great for United’s finances.
Rashford would love to join Barcelona, but they are closing in on a deal for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
Remaining in England could appeal to him as long as there is Champions League football available.
He spent the second half of last season at Aston Villa, weighing in with four goals and six assists in 17 appearances before injury struck.
Rashford has the potential to reproduce his form from the 2022-23 campaign when he notched 30 goals and 12 assists in 56 appearances.
Newcastle want to challenge strongly across all competitions next season, and having Rashford in their ranks would be a huge boost to their squad depth.
