RB Leipzig are resigned to losing Benjamin Sesko this summer with both Newcastle United and Manchester United vying for the Slovenian forward’s transfer. The Bundesliga side have already rejected an opening offer of €75m plus €5m in bonuses which was swiftly rejected but NUFC have since returned with an improved offer.
The Athletic report that Newcastle have raised their offer to at least €80m, while Sky Germany add that NUFC’s offer is €80m plus €10m in bonuses. As previously reported, the base fee of €75m did meet Leipzig’s asking price but they were holding out for more in bonuses.
Although Manchester United haven’t submitted an offer to Leipzig for Sesko, there is interest there and the INEOS backed club appear ready to match Newcastle’s offer. The 22-year-old is yet to decide on a destination but has made it known to teammates that he will be leaving the club this summer. Newcastle’s latest offer for Sesko was expected as negotiations continue.
