Newcastle 1-4 Bournemouth: Player ratings as Kluivert hat-trick downs Magpies | OneFootball

Bournemouth extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches in all competitions with an impressive 4-1 victory against in-form Newcastle United in the Premier League courtesy of Justin Kluivert's hat-trick.

Bournemouth made a breathless start on Tyneside and went ahead after just six minutes to stun the home crowd. Kluivert scored his ninth goal of the season in all competitions, meeting Antoine Semenyo's pass with a pinpoint strike to offer the visitors a deserved lead.

Newcastle swiftly regrouped and were spurred on by the raucous home support as they found their equaliser in the 25th minute. Some slack set-piece defending from the visitors was punished as Bruno Guimaraes redirected his free header beyond the unconvincing Kepa Arrizabalaga.

But it was Guimaraes who was at fault as Bournemouth restored their lead just before the break. The midfielder was robbed deep in Newcastle territory and Kluivert doubled his tally for the afternoon with a driven strike after being supplied by the indefatigable Dango Ouattara.

Ouattara continued to cause issues for the Newcastle backline and the Burkina Faso international had the ball in the back of the net on the hour mark. However, his cushioned effort was disallowed following VAR intervention after the ball had gone out of play earlier in the move.

Brooks saw an excellent near-post flick clawed off the line by Martin Dubravka as Bournemouth chased a third, but it mattered little as Kluivert sealed three deserved points for the Cherries in stoppage-time with a stunning long-range effort.

There was still time for Bournemouth to grab a fourth, however, with Milos Kerkez getting in on the act in the 96th minute. The Hungarian made a lung-busting run into the final third and produced an excellent finish to match as the Cherries added even more gloss to the scoreline.
