A new chapter is set to begin for defender Jakub Kiwior, with a move to Portugal now imminent. According to a report from renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on the social media platform X, a full agreement has been finalized between FC Porto and Arsenal for the transfer of the 25-year-old Polish international.

The deal will see the centre-back depart London on an initial loan spell. However, the agreement is structured to become permanent, with a mandatory obligation for Porto to purchase the player for a fee in the region of €17 million. The finer details also include a sell-on clause, ensuring Arsenal will receive a percentage of any future transfer fee.

All that remains now are the final formalities. Kiwior is anticipated to make the journey to Portugal within the coming day to undergo his medical examinations and officially put pen to paper on his new contract.

Before his anticipated departure, it's worth reflecting on Kiwior's time in North London. Arsenal initially secured his services from Serie A's Spezia in the winter of 2023, investing approximately €20 million to bring the defender to the Premier League.

During his tenure with the Gunners, the Polish international made a total of 68 appearances across all competitions. While his primary role was in defense, he also contributed offensively, finding the net on three occasions and setting up a further six goals for his teammates.

His performances and development at the club are reflected in his estimated market valuation, which the industry authority Transfermarkt currently places at €28 million—a figure that represents a significant increase on his original transfer fee.
