Napoli to make new contact for Gian Piero Gasperini after positive talks | OneFootball

Serie A giants Napoli have been handed a boost in their move to land Gian Piero Gasperini as their next manager this summer.

The Partenopei have been linked with the likes of Antonio Conte, Stefano Pioli and Gasperini but it seems as if the Atalanta has jumped infront of the race to become the club’s next manager.

Il Mattino (via CN24) have reported that initial talks between Gasperini and Napoli have been rather positive and this has made him the favourite to become the club’s next manager. Club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis does feel that Gasperini wants to sign a new deal at Atalanta but attempts will be made by the Partenopei.

A new meeting between the two parties is expected to take place soon and it is likely to take place after the Europa League final in Dublin.

Conte is currently a free agent and talks were held for him as well. Pioli meanwhile, seems set to depart Milan in the summer and he would also soon be free to join a new club.
