Napoli are not only increasingly confident that Antonio Conte will stay beyond the summer, but according to Matteo Moretto, the Partenopei have also offered their coach an improved contract.

Napoli have reportedly offered Conte an improved contract, as President Aurelio De Laurentiis strongly wants the Italian tactician to remain at the helm for the 2025-26 season.

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports on X, formerly Twitter, that the fresh Serie A winners have offered their coach an ‘improved contract.’

Whether this means a pay rise or a longer contract remains uncertain, but surely the Partenopei are doing all they can to persuade Conte to stay at the Stadio Maradona for the 2025-26 season.

Conte took charge of the team last summer and led the Partenopei from 10th place in 2023-24 to title winners in the current campaign.

The Italian tactician, a five-time Scudetto winner as a coach, is already under contract with Napoli until 2027.

Conte and De Laurentiis met on Tuesday in Rome, and the coach took some days to consider his future after the summit.

Juventus remain among the admirers of Conte in Serie A, but the Bianconeri are currently restructuring the club, hiring a new CEO in Damien Comolli, so it remains to be seen if they’ll manage to squeeze between Conte and Napoli and tempt their former coach away from the Maradona.

Why would Conte stay at Napoli?

The Partenopei won their second Serie A title in three years and have already made significant moves in the summer transfer window, with a deal close to being reached for free agent Kevin De Bruyne and talks ongoing with Canada international Jonathan David, also available as a free agent from Lille.

Corriere dello Sport reported on Wednesday that ADL’s ‘transfer promise’ to Conte could persuade the Italian tactician to remain at the Stadio Maradona.
