Napoli and PSG are on the brink of concurring to the figures for the transfer of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The parties met on Monday, and the negotiation is in its homestretch. The Azzurri will cash in €75M plus possible add-ons, Gianluca Di Marzio informs.
The Serie A side made it clear from the beginning that they didn’t want makeweights who would reduce the cash portion of the package. They are mildly interested in Milan Skriniar should they fail to land Danilo. However, the two operations wouldn’t be intertwined. They’d eventually attempt to sign the ex-Inter star on loan.
As a further sign that Kvaratskhelia is indeed headed to PSG, Napoli have already started working on his replacement. Alejandro Garnacho is top of the list, but Manchester United have asked for a sum close to what they’ll receive for the departure of their star. They’ll move on if they are unable to negotiate it down.
If the Partenopei don’t find a youngster they like, they’ll consider adding a veteran on a temporary spell. Timo Werner is an option. He’s currently at Tottenham via RB Leipzig. The Italian team inquired to see whether he could be let go.
It’ll be a disappointing and abrupt ending to what could have been a great partnership, but at least it looks like his exit won’t turn into a saga like in other circumstances. As for his replacement, since they already have David Neres, they could take a shot on a starlet or wait to splurge till the summer, as having depth and alternatives will be more necessary next season.
