Multiple offers received for several Rangers stars

Ibrox Noise understands Rangers have rejected up to a dozen offers for players because all fell below the valuations the board has for the personnel in question.

Rabbi Matondo, Todd Cantwell and Tom Lawrence are among those for whom offers have come in but Nils Koppen, Philippe Clement and John Bennett all agreed the numbers fell short of what Rangers want. We do not have the exact numbers.

The reality is Rangers want to ship out many players still, with incomings being hampered by this, but the club isn’t interested in selling itself short just to get a wage off the bill.

This basically means a 6-figure sum isn’t enough for Cantwell, Matondo or Lawrence and Rangers will not give up asset players for below what they’re worth, even if it means getting their £20Kpw+ wage off the financials.

The big deal here is Cyriel Dessers.

The Nigerian is among those who offers came in for – PAOK were one big name in here, and two or three Serie A sides were interested as well. None offered what Rangers want, which for a guy on 4 in 5 and his general record for Rangers is easily at least what Aberdeen got for Bojan Miovski. In Rangers’ case, well over £7M.

And like everyone else, the offers on the table for the Nigerian didn’t match the valuation so he will stay.

And yes, James Tavernier is in there too, slightly different case – offer was accepted from Saudi but Tav didn’t want to go there; Turkish giants Trabzonspor WAS of interest to Rangers’ captain but the clubs couldn’t agree a fee.

So as it is, no one is outgoing for now and no new signings in terms of fee-based ones can be made.

Rangers are currently relying on loans with obligation/option, such as in the case of Croat Bradaric. That’s the only way without big money that we can bring in new talent.

Not ideal, but that’s the way it is.

And we need those sales soon. Only have 10 days left.
