After the important 2-1 win against his former side Juventus, Alvaro Morata spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the impact of Sergio Conceicao at AC Milan.
Despite a very poor first half, and a rough second half most of the time, Milan managed to turn things around against Juventus as they scored two goals within four minutes. Morata was involved in the second as he combined with Musah, who admittedly got lucky with a wicked deflection.
Speaking to Mediaset after the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, Morata shared his thoughts on how Milan managed to turn things around. He also praised Conceicao for giving the players a lot of energy, while stating that lifting the Supercoppa Italiana trophy would be important.
On the game…
“They scored against us with their first real chance, we entered the second half knowing that we had to turn things around. We entered with more risk and more players up front, this gave us more opportunities.”
What is Conceiçao asking of you?
“He says we have a lot of quality and that we need to put intensity into our game, he brought us a lot of energy, desire and many new mechanisms. Now we can win a trophy.”
How important would this trophy be?
“Like every trophy in life… You never know when it will be the last chance to win a trophy. We enter Milanello every day and see the trophies that Milan has won and we can add another. It’s not a Champions League or Scudetto, but it’s still an extra piece of history. Now we have to recover well and give it our all.”
Milan will be up against Inter in the final, which is scheduled for Monday evening, and it remains to be seen if they can make it 2/2 wins against the Nerazzurri. Today’s game was far from brilliant but the way the Rossoneri turned things around has given them a huge boost.
