Liverpool forward Mo Salah has cemented his place among football’s elite after becoming the first player to win the Men’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year award three times. The Egyptian was honoured in Manchester following a breathtaking 2024-25 season that not only delivered Liverpool another Premier League title but also showcased the forward’s relentless brilliance.
Salah’s numbers remain staggering: 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 appearances, a campaign where he consistently defined matches and rewrote records. Recognition from fellow professionals has added a layer of prestige to his achievements. “Great, great. It’s something that’s never happened in the Premier League, it’s something I will never forget and I will never take it for granted. So, I’m so glad about that,” Salah said after lifting the award once more.
For Salah, the 2024-25 campaign stands out as the pinnacle of his career to date. “I think we had a great season and I also had my best season in the club, maybe in my career as well. To win the league, I’m glad we managed to do that, and hopefully it will continue this year.”

His hunger has never dimmed, even after years at the top. “Honestly, I found always a way to feel hungry and just need more. This season we have new players, so you also need to give them your experience and try to help them also to grow – that’s part of being a footballer. It’s always the hunger that really makes me want more.”
That relentless drive is even more remarkable given his humble beginnings. “Of course I want to be a football player, I just want to be famous and can provide for my family. But you don’t think about that big stuff when you are in Egypt or you are still so small.” What began as a dream in Nagrig has become a legacy at Anfield, with Salah embodying Liverpool’s modern success story.
At 33, Salah remains as driven as ever. He recently committed to two more years at Liverpool, a declaration of loyalty and ambition. “I’m still very hungry – that’s why I signed for Liverpool [for] another two years. It’s great to play in the Premier League at that level. Also with my age, 33, you feel that you can give more and you can really make the difference always in each game.”
Above all, his connection with the fans continues to define his journey. “Absolutely incredible. Anfield is incredible, it feels home always… I would not be able to do it [without them], so I want to have the chance to tell them thank you very much for making that happen.”
Salah’s story is not just one of individual accolades, but of a bond between a player, a club, and its people – a relationship that continues to shape Liverpool’s present and its future.
